Avineon hires new director of federal business development
Avineon Inc. has hired Mark O’Connell as director of strategic development for its Federal Systems Division.
Avineon Inc. has hired Mark O’Connell as director of strategic development for its Federal Systems Division.
O’Connell will support federal business development efforts from a strategic planning standpoint and seek to identify new market opportunities for the Alexandria, Va., information technology and business management provider, according to a company announcement issued today.
O’Connell previously served as deputy associate administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency. Before that, he spent more than 11 years as a congressional aide, including four years as a legislative chief of staff.
On Capitol Hill, O'Connell developed legislative strategy and advanced legislative initiatives and proposals.
“With Avineon’s continued growth in its federal division and Mark’s thorough understanding of government processes and legislation, we anticipate the expansion of our services to new markets within the federal government,” said Karlu Rambhala, Avineon president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
