Four contractors will upgrade Air Force communications

A quartet of integrators will help the Air Force upgrade its communications systems under a multiple-award, five-year contract that has a combined potential maximum value of $90.7 million.

The contract for integration and implementation of command and control, communications, computers and intelligence and radio frequency communications systems was awarded to Arinc Engineering Services Inc., General Dynamics Information Technology, Science Applications International Corp. and SYS Technologies Inc.

Under this indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity award, the contractors will bid to provide services that include implementation and integration, configuration management, integration logistics support and on-site technical assistance. They will also provide engineering, test and evaluation, quality assurance, and life-cycle management for a range of programs during the critical period from system conception through system operation, according to a Defense Department announcement of Dec. 16.

The work will be performed in San Diego, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 17, 2013.

All four awardees will compete for work under the contract. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific is the contracting activity.
