SAIC to deliver cargo inspection kits to Army

Science Applications International Corp. will provide a nonintrusive inspection system for vehicles and cargo to the Army under a $97.9 million contract.

Under the contract, SAIC will furnish 50 mobile gamma-ray imaging systems designed to perform in military conditions, the Defense Department said Nov. 25. The Army plans to use them for nonintrusive inspection of vehicles and cargo. The company also will provide maintenance and support for the systems, DOD said.

SAIC, of San Diego, ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
