GTSI appoints Whitfield senior VP/CFO

Peter Whitfield has been named senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer by GTSI Corp.'s board of directors.Before the appointment, Whitfield was in charge of financial planning, analysis and internal audit functions at the provider of information technology solutions and services. He previously held executive leadership positions in sales operations and finance at MCI Corp., Winstar and Broadwing. At InPhonic Inc., he was responsible for leading customer service, fulfillment, procurement, credit and activation processes.Whitfield holds a Bachelor of Science degree in public accounting from Pace University, Pleasantville, N.Y. GTSI, of Herndon, Va., ranks No. 45 on Washington Technology's 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
