Entrepreneur boot camp gains ground

Disabled veterans may have an advantage over others interested in starting their own business, according to a New York Times report.

The Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans With Disabilities was started last year by the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University and has been adopted this year by UCLA and Texas A&M and Florida State universities to teach disabled soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines the skills needed to start and expand small businesses and help them find financing for their ideas.

A recent study by the Small Business Administration found that the experience of military service strongly predisposed people to self-employment and business ownership.
