SRA wins pension system work
SRA International Inc. won a contract to develop a transactions-based system to process premium payments for retirement plans for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.
SRA International Inc. won a six-year, $12.3 million contract to develop a transactions-based system to process premium payments for retirement plans for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.
As a division of the Labor Department, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. insures the pensions of more than 44 million American workers and retirees that participate in more than 30,000 private sector defined-benefit pension plans.
Under the contract, SRA will design, develop and implement a premium and practitioner system to support premium-filing processes. The system will use Oracle Corp.'s financial and customer relationship management modules customized for the organization. SRA also will integrate commercial products and provide systems training.
SRA already has redesigned the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp.'s Internet and intranet sites under an earlier contract. The company has made system development services and deployed two Web-transaction systems, so authenticated participants can submit filings and other information through the Internet.
The new contract is part of the agency's IT modernization plan to replace legacy systems with new ones that eliminate or reduce manual data-collection processes.
Capgemini U.S. of New York and TeraThink Corp. of Reston, Va., are SRA's teammates on the contract.
Fairfax, Va.-based SRA offers IT services and solutions to federal government agencies. It employs approximately 4,900 workers and had revenue of almost $1.2 billion for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2006. The company is No. 19 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
