Intergraph wins computer-aided dispatch deals

Intergraph Corp. won contracts totaling $4.8 million to deploy computer-aided dispatch systems for two major U.S. cities.

Under a contract worth $2.9 million, Intergraph will install a CAD system for Richmond, Va. The installation is part of a larger initiative by the city to modernize its public safety systems, the company said. It will serve the city's police, fire and emergency medical services departments.

Under a contract worth $1.9 million, Intergraph also is in the process of deploying a CAD system for the Cleveland Fire and Medical Services Department. Like Richmond, the project is part of a larger initiative to modernize the city's legacy public safety systems. The company said it has completed the first phase of the Cleveland project.

The CAD systems give first responders in each city an integrated, interactive mapping capability that gives dispatchers and field personnel with information on the location of units, the fastest routes for response and the ability to transmit and receive information on the way to the scene of the incident.

Intergraph of Huntsville, Ala., offers spatial information management software and services to the commercial and government sectors. The company has 3,450 employees and had annual sales of $576.8 million in fiscal 2005, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
