The Alaska Health and Social Services Department wants a contractor to develop its new Medicaid management information system. A request for proposals is expected mid-to-late summer.The winning contractor will complete, test, deliver and certify the system based on current design documentation.Project requirements may include a second phase in which the contractor furnishes ongoing operational support and fiscal-agent services.The New York Motor Vehicles Department wants a contractor to provide a motor vehicle accident prevention course via the Internet. An RFP is expected in the third quarter.The state offers a six-hour classroom course commonly referred to as a point-and-insurance reduction program, but wants to develop an alternative course that can be administered via the Internet.The New Jersey Information Technology Office is looking for contractors to supply IT professional support services through a statewide contract. An RFP is expected in the third quarter of this year.The winners would furnish a wide array of IT support for production services, network infrastructure, Web services, electronic content management, help desk, application development and system integration. The contractors also would provide radio communications support as well as systems consulting and information security consulting services. A second RFP will cover data management services.The Maryland comptroller wants a contractor to modernize its computer-assisted collection system to let the state more effectively use available data. An RFP is expected in late 2006.The winning contractor will need to configure the system to let it interface at the back end with the state's mainframe integrated tax system.
