Raytheon buys Houston Associates
Raytheon Co. has acquired Houston Associates Inc., a company that develops mission-critical networks and network-centric command and control infrastructure applications, and provides enterprise management services.
Defense giant Raytheon Co. has acquired Houston Associates Inc., a privately owned company that develops mission-critical networks and network-centric command and control infrastructure applications, and provides enterprise management services. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will expand Raytheon's ability to meet customer program requirements within the Defense Systems Information Agency.
HAI of Arlington, Va., will become part of Raytheon's Network Centric Systems business. Jefferies Quarterdeck, a Los Angeles merger-and-acquisition firm for defense and aerospace companies, advised HAI on the purchase.
Headquartered in Waltham, Mass., Raytheon has 80,000 people worldwide and had 2004 revenue of $20.2 billion. It ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
