AlphaInsight wins State Department software engineering work

AlphaInsight Corp. won a $3.2 million contract from the State Department's Bureau of Overseas Building Operations to deliver software engineering and support services for a program that integrates disparate legacy systems that manage the government's overseas properties.

The contract for the Building Management Integrated System was awarded under the Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners 2 Innovations (CIO-SP2) governmentwide acquisition contract. Managed by the National Institutes of Health's Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center, the 10-year contract allows all federal agencies to buy IT services.

The new award is the second IT services contract that the Falls Church, Va., company has received from the Bureau of Overseas Building Operations in three months. In September, it won a $9.8 million contract from the agency to provide network engineering services. The company has provided IT services and solution to the various State Department agencies for 16 years.

The Bureau of Overseas Building Operations agency directs the overseas building programs for the State Department and other federal workers who reside abroad by managing the design, construction, acquisition, maintenance, use and sale of real estate worldwide.

AlphaInsight specializes in providing systems engineering and IT services to the homeland security, foreign affairs, defense and law enforcement sectors of the federal government. The privately held company employs about 360 people.
