RSIS wins VA information security work
RS Information Systems Inc. has won a group of task orders with the Veterans Affairs Department to deliver information security and other technology services for VA's Office of Cyber and Information Security
RS Information Systems Inc. has won five task orders worth a total of $10 million with the Veterans Affairs Department to deliver information security and other technology services for VA's Office of Cyber and Information Security, the company announced today.
Under the contract, RSIS of McLean, Va., will develop a training program and course design for information security officers, continue developing software used to comply with reporting requirements of the Federal Information Security Management Act, and expand the functionality and capabilities of the OCIS Intranet Portal.
The company also will provide life-cycle operation and maintenance of the VA's centralized enterprise antivirus system and engineering and implement the pilot for products that would be used throughout the VA to provide software distribution, policy compliance and reports and asset inventory.
The company will assign more than 50 employees to VA locations around the country to carry out the work.
About 40 RSIS engineers and technicians also manage and support the VA's Virtual Private Network infrastructure from a facility located in Martinsburg, W.Va.
The VA's OCIS is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of veterans' private data, managing the flow of information throughout the enterprise and ensuring department information systems are protected from fraud, waste and abuse.
RSIS, a privately-held, African-American owned firm, ranks No. 36 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
