MTC tapped by Air Force for communications support

MTC Technologies Inc. won a contract worth $8.8 million to provide telecommunications certification office support systems for the Air Force Communications Agency, the company said today. The five-year contract has one base year and four options years.

Under the contract, MTC of Dayton, Ohio, will maintain and enhance the multiserver system used for ordering communications components and equipment by the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the Federal Aviation Administration and several commercial telecom organizations worldwide. The company will perform the work at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

The systems support the Defense Department's long-distance communications provisioning and procurement business processes. The Air Force Communications Agency and other Defense Department agencies use them to manage more than $2.5 billion in communications projects each year.

MTC provides engineering, technical and management services to the Defense Department and national security agencies. The company has about 2,700 employees and annual revenue of $273 million. MTC is No. 59 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
