ACS tapped for Pennsylvania call center operations
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $33 million contract from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to provide call center services.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a $33 million contract from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to provide call center services, the company announced today.
Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will operate a driver and vehicle services call center for the department, which handles about 3 million calls annually. The new contract is expected to save the department $5 million over the next five years.
The center will handle calls from customers who have questions concerning driver licensing and motor vehicles, as well as the scheduling of road testing for new drivers.
ACS currently operates call centers in Pennsylvania for the Philadelphia Parking Authority, the Philadelphia Fire Department Emergency Management Services and the Pennsylvania State Collection and Disbursement Unit.
The call center will be located in the Harrisburg area, and will employ about 120 people. It will be fully operational by January 2006.
ACS, a provider of IT and business process outsourcing services, has more than 50,000 employees and annual sales of $4.3 billion.
