General Dynamics finishes Itronix purchase

General Dynamics Corp has completed its acquisition of wireless solution provider Itronix Corp. for an undisclosed amount, the company announced. The systems integrator announced its plans to buy Itronix Aug. 3.

Based in Spokane, Wash., Itronix provides mobile computing solutions, including handhelds, laptops and tablet PCs as well as wireless integration and support services for the military, public safety and commercial markets.

The company's 450 employees now will become part of General Dynamics C4 Systems of Scottsdale, Ariz. The division specializes in command and control, communications networking, space systems, computing and information assurance for defense, government and select commercial customers in the United States and abroad.

Headquartered in Falls Church, Va., General Dynamics provides mission-critical information systems and technologies, combat systems, armaments and munitions, shipbuilding and marine systems and business aviation to federal and commercial clients.

The company employs about 70,800 employees worldwide and had 2004 revenue of $19.2 billion. It is No. 5 on Washington Technology's 2005 Top 100 list of prime government contractors.
