Transport command taps MTC for systems services

MTC Technologies Inc. won a four-and-a-half year, $8.1 million prime contract to provide systems engineering and acquisition, test and evaluation, and configuration management services to the U.S. Transportation Command's Global Transportation Network Program Management Office, the company said today.

The Global Transportation Network is the command and control system that provides integrated and automated support for the U.S. Transportation Command and its component commands.

The award was made under the General Services Administration's Management, Organizational and Business Improve Service Schedule, which offers a range of management and consulting services to federal agencies.

MTC will help field a new system called the Global Transportation Network of the 21st Century, which will give warfighters additional command and control capabilities with rapid access to global transportation deployment information.

Based in Dayton, Ohio, MTC offers engineering, technical and management services to the Defense Department and national security agencies. It employs more than 2,500 workers in more than 40 locations and posted 2004 revenue of $273 million. The company is No. 47 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
