The Contracts and Risk Management Department of the Port of Tacoma, Wash., wants information management software for contracts, financial, program and document management. An RFP is expected in July.

The system should integrate other port systems; improve reporting, business practices and efficiencies; provide greater visibility of data to authorized users; and control data better.


Mass. seeks justice system

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and the Information Technology Division plan a solicitation in July for a statewide, integrated criminal justice information system. The vendor will be responsible for improving and integrating criminal justice information systems.


Calif. plans E-911 network

The California General Services Department will issue an RFP in June for 911 database and network services to lead to a next-generation E-911 network. The vendor would implement an Enhanced-911 architecture that incorporates technologies such as geographic information systems, telematics and automatic location information from wireless service providers.


Truck screening system

The Maine Transportation Department wants an automated commercial vehicle screening system for the Maine State Police truck weighing facilities on Interstate 95 in Kittery and York, and adjacent to a new border station on Route 1 in Calais. The RFP is expected next year.

The goal is to identify and characterize commercial vehicles for axle and gross weight, dimensions and credential status while minimizing disruptions on interstate routes.


School needs messaging

The University of Central Florida Purchasing Department plans a June RFP for a unified messaging system. The new system must work with the department's Siemens and Cisco telephone systems, its local area network and its e-mail system. n
