Two agencies tap PEC Solutions for contracts
PEC Solutions Inc. won a one-year, $2.3 million contract from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and a one-year, $4.8 million task order from the Homeland Security Department.
PEC Solutions Inc. of Fairfax, Va., won a one-year, $2.3 million contract to deliver a digital data management system for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and a one-year, $4.8 million task order for project management and business support for the Homeland Security Department.
The NRC digital data management system will support possible hearings in Las Vegas on storing high-level radioactive waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain. PEC Solutions previously developed a digital data management system for the NRC's hearing room in Rockville, Md.
Under the new contract, PEC Solutions will develop enhancements to the digital data management system that will facilitate hearings at multiple locations. PEC Solutions will also implement an electronic hearing room for the NRC's Las Vegas facility, which will include electronic evidence presentation, digital audio and video transcripts and electronic capture and display components.
According to Paul Rice, president of PEC Solutions, the digital courtroom system will speed the hearing process and save money for NRC.
PEC Solutions and its subcontractors, MediaEdge of Linthicum, Md., and ExhibitOne Corp. of Chandler, Ariz., will provide hardware, software and integration services along with electronic courtroom and administrative court expertise, PEC Solutions executives said.
The Homeland Security Department's U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Information and Customer Service Division awarded the task order for project management and business support.
Under the task order, PEC Solutions will support the National Customer Service Center, which a nationwide, toll-free number for assistance with immigration services and benefits. The center receives approximately 2 million calls a month.
PEC Solutions will assess call center operations and new initiatives to improve customer service. The company also will provide program management and technical support, including Web site support, certification and accreditation.
The company's work will shorten customer wait times at offices, reduce the need for return trips and provide more comprehensive information in advance of scheduled appointments with USCIS representatives, PEC Solutions officials said.
