Contract roundup

Four companies: bd Systems Inc., Torrance, Calif.; Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., McLean, Va.; Scitor Corp., Colorado Springs, Colo.; and SI International Inc., Reston, Va.; won the right to compete for task orders worth $610 million to provide advisory and assistance services and engineering and technical assistance to the Air Force Space Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

Seven Virginia IT companies won awards totaling $546.4 million from the Army for desktop support and IT services: Addx Corp., Alexandria, $20.4 million; AlphaInsight Corp., Falls Church, $85.4 million; Daston Corp. , McLean, $10.6 million; Focused Management Inc., Springfield, $19.4 million; MicroPact Engineering Inc., Herndon, $91 million; Pragmatics Inc., McLean, $117.6 million; and Resource Consultants Inc., Vienna, $202 million.

Anteon International Corp., Fairfax, Va., won two contracts worth a total of $16 million to provide systems engineering and technical support to the Marine Corps.

BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, Va., was among four companies picked to pilot systems to provide smart chips, antennas, software and other gear to embed biometric information within U.S. passports. The other contractors are Axalto of Amsterdam, Infinion AG of Munich and SuperCom Ltd. of New York and Raanana, Israel. The contracts are worth several hundred thousand dollars.

CACI International Inc., Arlington, Va., won about $266 million in previously unannounced contracts during its quarter that ended Sept. 30 from federal agencies, including the Defense Department, to support national security and intelligence activities.

Lockheed Martin Corp., Bethesda, Md., won an $87 million, four-year task order from the General Services Administration's Federal Systems Integration and Management Center to provide enterprisewide information technology to the Defense Department's Central Command.

PEC Solutions Inc., Fairfax, Va., won a $2.3 million contract for a data management system for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's hearings in Las Vegas on storing radio-active waste at Nevada's Yucca Mountain.

PEC Solutions also won a one-year, $4.8 million contract for project management and business support for the Homeland Security Department.

Pinkerton Computer Consultants Inc., Trevose, Pa., won a five-year, $6.5 million contract from the Drug Enforcement Administration to upgrade the agency's Web architecture.

Raytheon Co. won a $546 million follow-on contract from the National Science Foundation to continue providing science, operations and maintenance support for NSF's U.S. Antarctic Program.

SRA International Inc., Fairfax, Va., won a five-year, $46.8 million from the Drug Enforcement Administration to provide engineering services to help the DEA modernize its IT infrastructure.

SRA also won a five-year, $19.2 million task order from the Defense Department to provide program support for its Logistics Automation Identification Technology Office.

Systalex Corp., Rockville, Md., won a five-year, $79 million contract from the Commerce Department to move data from a legacy financial system to a new e-gov-compatible system.

Thomas & Herbert Consulting LLC, Silver Spring, Md., won six contracts for more than $20 million from the Housing and Urban Development Department to support development of an enterprise architecture; provide data mining and other services; and support the Office of Public and Indian Housing's Real Estate Assessment Center's Resident Assessment Subsystem, Physical Assessment Subsystem and Integrated Assessment Subsystem.
