BAE Systems to support Air Force F-16 programs

BAE Systems plc won an Air Force contract to support a variety of systems for F-16 fighter jets, officials of the Hampshire, United Kingdom, company announced today. The contract might bring in $10 million a year through 2009.

Under the Support Equipment Sustainment contract, BAE Systems will maintain the F-16 Stores System Testers, Enhanced Diagnostic Aid, Viper Memory Loader Verifier, and Flight Line Stores Management System testers, all of which are produced by BAE Systems' Information & Electronic Warfare Systems in Nashua, N.H.

The task order contract has a maximum value of $175 million, but BAE Systems officials said they expect the Air Force will spend about $10 million a year through 2009.

Among its tasks, BAE Systems' will provide spares and repairs, logistic support and hardware and software engineering and production, according to company officials.

Work will be performed in Merrimack, N.H., and Fort Worth, Texas, BAE Systems officials said.

BAE Systems designs, manufactures and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, radar, avionics, communications, electronics and guided weapon systems. The company employs more than 90,000 people and has annual revenue of more than $20 billion. BAE ranks No. 12 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
