BearingPoint Inc. of McLean, Va., will help the Homeland Security Department build a consolidated administrative and financial management system under a $229 million contract.
Emerge2, or the Electronically Managing Enterprise Resources for Government Effectiveness and Efficiency program, is an enterprise resource planning system that aims to give agency decision-makers more timely information about the agency's assets and resources.
"With the award of this contract, we are one step closer to providing improved visibility into our critical business information," said Andrew Maner, DHS' chief financial officer, in a statement.
The program will focus on accounting and reporting, acquisition and grants management, cost and revenue performance management, asset management and budget, the agency said.
