CACI wins Navy ERP work

Defense contractor CACI International Inc. won a five-year, $126 million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to support the Navy's Enterprise Maintenance Automated Information System, the company said today.

Called NEMAIS, the program is a joint Navsea and fleet initiative to implement an enterprise resource planning solution that improves maintenance and modernization processes aboard ships and in shore industrial activities.

As part of the Navy's larger ERP Program, considered one of the largest military ERP implementations in the world, NEMAIS replaces aging information systems with new, integrated management software.

The award consolidates contracts under CACI to provide program and technical support for the NEMAIS program.

Under the contract, CACI and its subcontractor team will provide project and technical support services, including re-engineering maintenance business processes to meet new requirements and providing program and financial support for project delivery.

CACI also will provide technical services to integrate commercial products, implement and rollout the system and train users. The company also will deliver engineering services for quality control and configuration management of the system's hardware and software, as well as information assurance solutions to secure the program's systems and data. The work will be performed at Navsea sites in Norfolk, Va., and Washington.

More than 35,000 Navy and civilian workers worldwide are expected to use the system when it's fully implemented, CACI said.

Based in Arlington, Va., CACI employs 9,400 people and had 2003 revenue of $843.1 million. It is No. 17 on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list of federal prime contractors.
