Anteon nabs border patrol subcontract

Anteon Corp. has won a 9-year, $74 million subcontract from Chenega Technology Services Corp. of Alexandria, Va., to support the Homeland Security Department's U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the company announced today.

Anteon of Fairfax, Va., will instruct and train Customs and Border Protection personnel in the daily operation of non-intrusive surveillance equipment at U.S. ports of entry.

Anteon employees providing this support will be located at a new company field office recently established in Tuscon, Ariz., the company said.

The new award expands Anteon's work supporting Homeland Security's border control and transportation security efforts where it is already serving as prime contractor for the Border Crossing Card and Permanent Resident Card program.

Anteon, a provider of information technology and engineering solutions to the government and international sectors, has 7,600 employees and annual sales of $1 billion. The company ranked 19th on Washington Technology's 2004 Top 100 list, which measures federal contracting revenue.
