Vermont re-ups EDS for Medicaid fiscal services
EDS Corp. has won a $50 million contract renewal from Vermont for Medicaid fiscal agent services.
EDS Corp. has won a $50 million contract renewal from Vermont for Medicaid fiscal agent services, the company announced today. The five-year contract includes a three-year option.
EDS of Plano, Texas, will provide administrative fiscal services for Vermont's Medicaid system, including claims processing, health care provider enrollment, provider and member relations, managed care, financial and data center management and technical support.
The award continues a 22-year relationship between EDS and the Vermont Department of Prevention, Assistance, Transition and Health Access for Medicaid systems support, the company said. EDS developed Vermont's Medicaid management information system, which runs on a client-server platform.
The department oversees Medicaid and a variety of other health care programs, and serves more than 140,000 low-income children, disabled, and seniors and adults in Vermont. The program processed more than 9.2 million claims for about 10,000 health care providers last year.
EDS has Medicaid-related contracts in 16 states. The company has 137,000 employees and annual sales of $21.3 billion.
