ManTech International Corp. has won a one-year, $5.1 million contract from the Justice Department to implement the portion of a departmentwide consolidated network project for the U.S. Marshals Service, the company announced today.
Under the task order contract, ManTech of Fairfax, Va., will provide project planning, system component installation and staff systems training for the U.S. Marshals Service implementation phase of the Justice Consolidated Office Network program, known as JCON.
The task order was awarded under the blanket purchase agreement that was awarded to ManTech by the Department of Justice in August 2003. The total value of the BPA awarded is estimated to be about $100 million per year. The department estimates the term of the BPA will be between five and ten years.
The JCON program is a comprehensive information technology infrastructure and support initiative. The program provides a common office automation platform on which 14 of the Department of Justice's litigating, management, and law enforcement components run their applications.
JCON also provides the infrastructure to access case management and other mission-related databases, e-government applications, and the department's law enforcement, litigation, and administrative systems.
The U.S. Marshals Service, a part of the Justice Department, has about 6,500 employees and contractor personnel located in about 400 offices throughout the United States and its territories. The Marshals Service is primarily housed in federal courthouses, although the service has become increasingly involved with law enforcement task forces that operate in separate locations that have special technology needs, ManTech said.
ManTech, a provider of IT and technical services solutions to the federal government, has more than 4,400 employees and annual sales of $500.2 million. The company was ranked No. 36 on Washington Technology's 2003 Top 100 List.
