Optimus lands FAA help-desk task order

Optimus Corp. has won a task order under the Federal Aviation Administration's Broad Information Technology Services II vehicle for a centralized local area network and help-desk support for several operations.
Optimus will provide the FAA with desktop user support, LAN server and infrastructure support, call center support, configuration management, IT inventory, asset management and training. Agency users and sites to be supported are in downtown Washington. The deal is worth $4 million in the first year and can run up to a total of eight years.
Optimus was one of 34 firms awarded a spot on BITS II in June. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity vehicle, a small business set aside, has a ceiling of $1.7 billion over eight years. All selected vendors have a maximum award value of $50 million over the life of the contract.
Headquartered in Silver Spring, Md., Optimus is privately owned and employs about 170 people.
