Raleigh, N.C., taps ACS for red-light camera program
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a five-year, $5 million contract from Raleigh, N.C., to implement a red-light camera program.
Affiliated Computer Services Inc. won a five-year, $5 million contract from Raleigh, N.C., to implement a red-light camera program, the company announced last week.
Under the contract, ACS of Dallas will install and manage between 15 and 20 photo enforcement cameras at intersections selected by the city. The company will manage the installation and maintenance of the cameras, process citations issued by the city and provide customer service operations.
The purpose of the red-light camera program, known as SafeLight, is to reduce injuries, fatalities and property damage caused by automobiles running red lights.
Other cities in North Carolina using the red-light program are Charlotte and Fayetteville. ACS has 57 contracts for radar and red-light photo enforcement throughout the United States and Canada.
ACS, a provider of business process outsourcing, has more than 40,000 employees and annual sales of $3.1 billion.
