Tenn. judicial district re-ups Maximus for child support services

Maximus Inc. won a five-year, $6.6 million contract to continue to operate a full-service child support program for the state of Tennessee's 28th Judicial District, the company announced Dec. 5.

Under the contract, Maximus of Reston, Va., will provide intake case processing; location of nonpaying, non-custodial parents; establishment of paternity for children born outside of marriage; and establishment of court ordered child support obligations and court orders to provide medical support.

The company also will monitor payment compliance, take administrative and judicial action to enforce support compliance and modify child support orders as necessary.

Maximus has operated this program in the district for the past five years.

Over the five-year span of the contract, Maximus will collect more than $80 million in child support for families in Gibson, Hayward and Crockett counties in Tennessee. The three counties are located in western Tennessee.

The company currently operates four of the nine privately owned child support programs in Tennessee.

Maximus provides state and local governments with program management, consulting and information technology services. The company has more than 5,300 employees and $518 million in annual revenue, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
