EF Johnson Snags Interior Dept.'s Mobile Radio Deal
EF Johnson Co. received a $2 million order from the Interior Department for digital mobile radio products.
EF Johnson Co. received a $2 million order from the Department of the Interior for digital mobile radio products, the company announced Nov. 15.
The equipment will be used by the Interior Department in several locations around the country, according to the Waseca, Minn.-based company. The order is the EF Johnson's second significant award under an existing Department of the Interior contract.
The equipment in the latest order will be applied to Interior's law enforcement efforts, thus "illustrating our expansion into secured communications," said David Hattley, EF Johnson's president and general manager.
EF Johnson, a subsidiary of Transcrypt International Inc. of Lincoln, Neb., provides wireless communications systems solutions for public safety, commercial and government customers.
The company designs, manufactures and markets conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 digital radio products. Project 25 is a two-way radio interoperability standard.
Transcrypt International has more than 250 employees and annual revenue of $42.2 million.
