Anteon Corp. has sold its subsidiary Interactive Media Corp. to Form Inc., an affiliate of Pearson Publishing UK. Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer of Anteon, said the sale of the division furthered the company's concentration on its core market, the federal government.

Anteon Corp. has sold one of its subsidiaries to Form Inc., an affiliate of Pearson Publishing UK. The sale was finalized July 20 for an undisclosed price, the company announced July 30.

The subsidiary, Interactive Media Corp., specializes in providing computer-based learning content and Web-based delivery systems to commercial customers. The company formerly was a wholly owned subsidiary of Analysis and Technology, which was acquired by Anteon of Fairfax, Va., in June 1999.

IMC's government business unit was integrated into Anteon's Information Systems Group in January. The commercial segment retained the corporate name and operated as an Anteon subsidiary focused on the commercial training marketplace.

Joseph Kampf, president and chief executive officer of Anteon, said the sale of the division furthered the company's concentration on its core market, the federal government.

"Our integration of IMC's government business unit and sale of its commercial segment to a compatible commercial company, reflect our continuing focus on Anteon's primary business area, the U.S. government," Kampf said. "The IMC government business, now operating as our Interactive Media Division, has significantly enhanced Anteon's capability to provide computer-based learning content and delivery systems to our government customers. We project our revenue in this area to reach approximately $15 million in 2001."

Anteon is a privately held firm owned principally by affiliates of Caxton-Iseman Capital. It has annual revenue in excess of $700 million, and more than 5,200 employees in more than 80 offices worldwide.
