Serco takes on 'price fighter' role

Serco Inc. will continue to provide a variety of analytical support to the price fighters department at the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support.

Serco first won the contract in 2015, according to Deltek, and bested two other bidders in the recompete awarded this week.

Under the $14.1 million contract, Serco will provide engineering-based cost analysis, logistics support, training, and technical services, according to the Defense Department posting.

All task orders placed under this contract have a firm-fixed-price structure. Three-fourths of the work will be done in Herndon, Virginia and the rest in Norfolk.

Among the tasks to be completed include “should cost” analysis of spare parts, technical data package development and review, and cost analysis of weapons systems, repairs and logistics. Serco also will support price challenges by investigating excessive prices increases, source development, and market research.
