We dive into NASA at Friday's WT Power Breakfast

NASA is one of the largest and most active IT buyers in the federal market. On Friday, we’ll take a deep dive into NASA as part of a virtual Washington Technology Power Breakfast.

We have three speakers lined up starting with Monica Manning -- senior procurement executive, deputy chief acquisition officer and assistant administrator for procurement at NASA.

Manning knows what and how NASA buys for IT. Her insights will help any company understand the procurement landscape and the breadth of products and services that NASA buys. She will talk about trends and priorities and other issues driving procurement at NASA.

Her portfolio equals $19.5 billion through some 36,000 contract actions.

If she can’t tell you want is going on, no can.

Following Manning’s presentation, Mary Davie will give a presentation on what she is doing as the deputy associate administrator for mission support transformation in NASA’s mission support directorate.

She is overseeing transformation efforts across the directorate’s enabling services. This includes the development and execution of transformation processes and support services. Davie, who joined NASA in the beginning of the year after a long career at the General Services Administration, will provide an up on the various initiatives under her purview.

To wrap up the morning, we’ll dive into the numbers of NASA’s IT budget with a presentation by Jessica Parks, an analyst for immixGroup's market intelligence team. She will talk about spending patterns and trends at NASA. Parks will also the budget and priorities as well as provide insights on the top contractors and top contract vehicles the agency uses to meet its mission.

The Power Breakfast kicks off at 8:15 a.m. and should wrap up by 9:45 a.m. Each speaker will have some time for Q&A after their sessions. So listen close and ask some good questions.
