NOAA faces protests against $2.1B contract

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's vehicle for modernizing its IT operations has been hit with a group protests of bidders who failed to win spots on the contract.

A possible $2.1 billion contract out of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has been hit with a series of bid protests.

Technically a blanket purchase agreement, the NOAA Mission IT Services contract is a multiple-award vehicle to help modernize IT systems and create a more efficient enterprise.

Some of the components include enterprise services, customer support, applications, enterprise and cloud computing, data and voice network services, and cybersecurity and information assurance.

It’s unclear who has won spots on the contract but four companies so far has registered objections with the Government Accountability Office:

  • ASRC Federal
  • Redhorse Corp.
  • RIVA Solutions

  • Technology Solutions Provider

All companies filed their protests on July 23. Decisions are expected from GAO by Nov. 2.
