Webcast puts focus on budget impact of COVID-19 stimulus

The federal government is pumping trillions of dollars into the economy, and our May 27 webcast will look at how the COVID-19 stimulus spending will impact budgets for next year beyond.

On May 27, I’ll moderate an online panel with government and industry experts exploring how the COVID-19 stimulus bills and shifting priorities will impact the budget going forward.

The webcast is part of our partnership with Government Marketing University and their Real Talk program that also includes a podcast. We’ve published two of the podcasts so far.

Our speakers will be Tom Suder, president and founder of Advanced Technology Academic Research Center; Kevin Plexico, senior vice president of information solutions at Deltek; and Joanne Woytek, program director of NASA’s SEWP program.

We haven’t had our speaker prep call yet, but I know all three of these folks well and I’m confident this will be an insightful and worthwhile hour.

Our focus will touch on the following:

  • The budget landscape in light of the trillions of dollars being pumped into the economy.
  • Impacts on technology trends. In other words, what innovations are the pandemic pushing to the forefront and what others are being held back?
  • What new policies and mandates have emerged and what will their impact be on the IT climate?

The webcast is at 2 p.m. on May 27. Click here for more information and to register. Each speaker will give a presentation and then I’ll moderate a Q&A. Please let me know if there are areas of interest that you think we need to explore.

In the meantime, also check out the Real Talk episodes we've posted as part of the Project 38 podcast.

One episode looked at TIC 3.0 and the second explored what we know so far about the COVID-19 stimulus.
