The nomination period is open for the 2020 Federal 100 awards, a program that recognizes individuals who are making a difference in the government IT market.

The nomination period has opened for the 2020 Federal 100 awards, a program our sibling publication FCW produces each year. to honor individuals doing extraordinary things for government IT.

These awards recognize individuals who go above and beyond their normal duties. Anyone in the federal IT community is eligible for an award -- career civil service, political appointees, industry, academics and even members of Congress.

This is a great opportunity to recognize someone on your team or your customer’s team for this prestigious award.

This will be the 31st year that these awards have honored individuals who are out there making a difference every day.

But it all starts with a great pool of nominees. So if you know people you believe should be among the 2020 Federal 100, please make sure our judges know about them, too.

Not certain what it takes to make the Federal 100? Here are five points to remember:

  1. Anyone in the federal IT community is eligible.
  2. The awards are for individual accomplishments in 2019.
  3. Winners go above and beyond, whatever their level or rank. A fancy job title is not required, and just doing one’s job well is not enough.
  4. You can make multiple nominations. Do so early and often.
  5. Impact matters. Tell us what a nominee did and what that work accomplished.

The deadline for submissions is Dec. 24, but don't delay. Go to FCW.com/2020fed100 for details. Get started on your nominations today.
