Alliant 2 SB moves on to protest phase
Not surprisingly, the first set of protests over the $15 billion Alliant 2 Small Business contract are starting to hit the Government Accountability Office.
Sx companies have filed protests so far but the probability is high that more protests will be filed.
The General Services Administration moved through the intent to award phase and with minimal challenges to the size designation of the companies it planned to make awards. On Feb. 14, GSA announced the final list of winners.
Official debriefings didn’t begin until March, a source indicated to me.
None of the protests involve challenges to whether a particular winner actually qualifies as a small business. Those objections were handled by the Small Business Administration.
The protests being filed at GAO are from companies that are objecting to not being picked as a prime on the $15 billion contract.
GAO may see quite a number of these protests as GSA received 493 proposals for Alliant 2 Small Business. They only made 81 awards, which means 400 disappointed bidders.
The six protesters are:
- Amyx Inc.
- CompQSoft Inc.
- Dynanet Corp.
- Integral Consulting Services
- Synaptek Corp.
- TISTA Science and Technology Corp.
They all filed their protests on March 14. A GAO decision is expected June 22.
