Former DIA director joins Deep Water Point

The former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Army Lt. Gen. Robert Ashely, has joined the consulting firm Deep Water Point as a principal.

The former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Army Lt. Gen. Robert Ashely, has joined the consulting firm Deep Water Point as a principal. He’ll support the company’s defense and intelligence business.

Ashely retired from as director of DIA in 2020 and had a 36-year military career that included leadership positions in operational combat, intelligence, global security, cybersecurity and risk management.

Deep Water Point has a track record of recruiting top civilian and military leaders to its consulting practice, including deputy commanding generals, the commanding general of the Army Special Operations Command and the former chief of staff of U.S. Cyber Command.
