NetCentrics develops growth strategy for operating independently under Haystax

NetCentrics has a renewed focus on expansion and building relationships following the decision to let the company operate independently from its holding company, Haystax, said NetCentrics President Cynthia Barreda.
Haystax acquired NetCentrics in 2014 and intended to combine the business with two other acquired companies, but the Haystax board decided at the end of 2015 to let the two companies function separately because of their different customer bases and buying processes.
“Right now, with the changes since we’ve been broken back out to function independently, our strategy right now is to obviously continue growing,” Barreda said.
NetCentrics is concentrating on expanding its reach within the Defense Department, where Barreda said the business has been most successful, but plans to use the experience in that area to target other civilian organizations.
“We’re looking to grow into some new markets, and the way that we’re going to do that is leveraging that knowledge and that discipline of what we’ve been doing with the DoD, or for the DoD, and also through some strategic acquisitions,” she said.
As NetCentrics grows larger, it will need to compete against larger businesses, Barreda said. She believes the key to success is sticking to the company’s roots and to “grow the infrastructure smartly.”
Barreda attributes the success and steady growth of NetCentrics to its culture, which she says will also help the business continue to move forward.
“One of the great things that we’ve had from a success standpoint is being able to maintain a lot of our staff, maintain our customers, through our culture and through our relationships,” she said. “As we continue to grow, we ensure that we’re maintaining that culture and that flexibility to continue to be able to support the needs of our customers.”
