Maximus picks up more health IT capabilies with latest acquisition

Maximus has acquired Ascend in a move that bolsters its state health care information technology capabilities.

Ascend, a provider of independent, specialized health assessments and data management tools for state government agencies, was founded in 1998 and provides assessment services as well as data management tools that help agencies plan, budget and ensure compliance with regulations, Maximus said in a release.

Maximus expects Ascend will contribute $13 million in revenue and will not affect earnings for the company’s fiscal 2016.

BDO and Hogan Lovells advised Maximus on the transaction; Brentwood Capital Advisors served as financial advisor to Ascend.
