TOP CONTRACTS

Who won July's biggest contracts?

Editor's Note: This article has been updated to include a Syncom Space Services contract that was inadvertently left off the list. It takes the No. 3 spot.

Contract activity picked up in the seventh month of 2015, with July seeing some substantial awards come to market with ceilings in the billions of dollars.

Washington Technology covered 52 awards during July, compared to 39 in June. July’s 52 contract awards number is greater than July 2014’s 44 awards, making this month the first time this year that 2015’s monthly contract number didn’t pale in comparison to the same month’s 2014 number.

Here have been the numbers in previous months:

January:

2014: 53 awards

2015: 38 awards

February:

2014: 43 awards

2015: 33 awards

March:

2014: 66 awards

2015: 58 awards

April:

2014: 69 awards

2015: 41 awards

May:

2014: 63 awards

2015: 43 awards

June:

2014: 46 awards

2015: 39 awards

July:

2014: 44 awards

2015: 52 awards

Some huge contracts were awarded this month. To make the top 10 list in July, you had to have won a contract worth more than $228.5 million.

Interestingly, the No. 10 through No. 6 spots are all related awards.

Multiple award contracts take up three spots this month.  The Navy is the contracting agency for five of the 10 top contracts. The Defense Intelligence Agency contracted out two of the top 10, as well.
