General Dynamics C4 Systems to support Navy radios under $37.3M contract

General Dynamics C4 Systems has won a $37.3 million contact to support the Navy’s AN/PRC-154 and AN/PRC-154A Rifleman radios.

General Dynamics C4 Systems has won a $37.3 million contact to support the Navy’s AN/PRC-154 and AN/PRC-154A Rifleman radios.

The AN/PRC-154 radio helps the soldier keep in touch with the platoon and platoon leader, helps the the platoon communicate despite geographical complications such as mountains, helps the leader have situational awareness of his soldiers, according to the GDC4 website.

Under the contract, General Dynamics C4 Systems will provide the Navy with software sustainment, logistics documentation, hardware, and enhancements, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in Scottsdale, Ariz., and is expected to be completed in March 2016.
