L-3 Communications has won an $8.3 million contract to support the Air Force’s military global positioning system.
The contract aims to mature the software coding of GPS receiver cards that are being developed.
Under the contract, L-3 Communications will provide the Air Force with software coding and will also perform security certification to enable faster fielding of military-code capable GPS receivers to the warfighter, the Defense Department said.
Work will be performed in Anaheim, Calif., and is expected to be completed by April 15, 2015.
