Both orders awarded under A-10 Thunderbolt Life Cycle Program Support contract

Northrop Grumman has won two task orders totaling $24 million to continue its support of the Air Force’s premier ground attack aircraft.

Both orders were awarded under the A-10 Thunderbolt Life Cycle Program Support contract.

The first task order is an aircraft structural integrity program, or ASIP, Modernization V task order. Under the order, Northrop and its team will support the A-10 ASIP modernization program on tasks required to keep the A-10 weapon system viable through 2028, the company said in a release.

Northrop’s team includes Southwest Research Institute, the University of Dayton Research Institute, Borsight Inc., and Prime Machine Inc.

The second order is a ASIP Legacy V task order, which will include tasks related to the original development and manufacturing of the A-10 weapon system. Under the task order, Northrop Grumman will provide damage tolerance analysis, materials testing, probabilistic and risk analysis and stress and thermal analysis.
