Microsoft names new leader for fed sales

Executive joined software giant 2 years ago

Greg Myers has been promoted to vice president of federal sales at Microsoft Corp., the company announced.

He replaces Teresa Carlson, who resigned in December 2010 to take charge of federal cloud computing strategy at Amazon.

Myers, a graduate of the University of Maryland, joined Microsoft two years ago and served as general manager of civilian government sales and healthcare sales.

He also has worked at Approva Corp. Bearing Point, Oracle and NCR Corp.
