DOD activity seeks disaster recovery support

The Defense Department's Washington Headquarters Service is requesting quotes from contractors interested in providing disaster recovery services, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted today.

The WHS Acquisition and Procurement Office seeks a facility, mainframe equipment and services at a remote location to perform disaster recovery both in scheduled events and actual emergencies. The contractor also will provide business continuity services and protection of mission-critical systems.

WHS mission is to provide essential capabilities that enable the secretary of defense, senior DOD officials, and their staffs to meet the mission of the department.

The contract will run for a period of one year from Sept. 30, 2008, through Sept. 29, 2009. Responses are due by Sept. 11 at 3:30 p.m. EST.
