EDO wins ballistic missile work

EDO Corp. will support the Ballistic Missile Defense System under a $55 million contract for evaluation and assessment support.

"This competitive win will nearly double our current level of support to the BMDS Operational Test Agency Team," said James Smith, EDO's chief executive officer.

Under the four-year contract, the company will provide professional services to the Army Evaluation Center, including performance analysis, test planning and execution, modeling and simulation and data management.

Most of the work will be done in Huntsville, Ala., Colorado Springs, Colo., and Aberdeen, Md. The company will do some of the work at other locations around the world.

EDO has supported the Ballistic Missile Defense System for 10 years, Smith said in a statement.

EDO of New York ranks of New York ranks No. 56 on Washington Technology's 2007 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
