Convergys wins Postal Service customer care renewal

Convergys Corp. won a $125.4 million contract extension from the U.S. Postal Service to continue providing customer contact services.

Convergys Corp. won a two-year, $125.4 million contract extension from the U.S. Postal Service to continue providing customer contact services.

Under the contract, Convergys of Cincinnati will manage customer service across all channels through live agents, automated speech services, e-mail and Web support.

In addition, the company will continue to provide consulting and analytics for a program that continually measures customer satisfaction.

The Postal Service helps more than 7 million customers daily at more than 37,000 outlets and delivers 202 billion pieces of mail a year.

Convergys, a provider of customer care, human resources and billing services to government and commercial customers, has about 74,000 employees and had $2.8 billion in revenue in 2006.
