BearingPoint wins Army enterprise systems work

BearingPoint Inc. won a five-year, $188 million contract to provide consulting services to the enterprise solutions center operated by the Army Communications-Electronics Command.

Under the contract, BearingPoint of McLean, Va., will furnish consulting services related to systems engineering, software development, enterprise resource planning and service-oriented architecture projects.

One of the company's first tasks will be to support the program office for the joint medical information systems of the Tricare Management Activity. Tricare is the health care plan for those serving in the military, retirees and their families. The program office supports full lifecycle development of health care systems, including design, development, testing, evaluation and deployment.

BearingPoint has about 17,000 employees and ranks No. 23 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
