DRC keeps Joint Forces scheduling system humming right along

Dynamics Research Corp. will continue supporting a system created to help the Joint Services Command manage and track operations and exercises of forces under its control through an $8.3 million contract.

Under the contract, DRC of Andover, Mass., will furnish software enhancements to the Web-based Joint Event Scheduling System, known as JESS. As part of the services package, the company also will supply maintenance, help desk support, documentation and training.

The JESS application provides the Joint Services Command with automated event management, force management, scheduling of events such as operations, exercises and experiments.

DRC's work on the scheduling system dates back to September 2002. The company also provided JESS development services for the Special Operations Command by configuring the system to support its mission in the fight against global terrorism.

"DRC's work on the JESS program and knowledge of the subject area is helping USJFCOM centralize and streamline its work to fight the Global War on Terror," said Tom Kelly, DRC's senior vice president and general manager. "JESS provides the systems capability needed to efficiently organize the joint forces and helps answer the Defense Department's call for a more integrated and effective military."

DRC ranks No. 60 on Washington Technology's 2006 Top 100 list of the largest federal IT contractors.
