Primavera Systems Inc. has purchased ProSight Inc., a portfolio analysis company, and Pertmaster Ltd., a risk analysis and mitigation company. Terms were not disclosed.

The acquisitions are intended to give Philadelphia-based Primavera greater market share in the project portfolio management category, the company said. The acquisitions will increase Primavera's current headcount of 425 employees by more than one-third.

ProSight's offerings, which help public- and private-sector customers analyze and plan their project and portfolio investments, will be marketed as Primavera ProSight, a stand-alone product that fits with the rest of Primavera's solutions.

Primavera plans to retain all of ProSight's offices. In addition to its Portland, Ore., headquarters, the company also has offices in Crystal City, Va., and Jerusalem.

As for Pertmaster, its risk analysis and mitigation offerings will be marketed as Primavera Pertmaster, another stand-alone product that integrates with the acquiring company's solutions. As with the other purchase, Primavera will retain all Pertmaster offices in Guildford, United Kingdom, and Houston.

Primavera is a privately held software company specializing in project, resource and portfolio management.
