Potential $9b contract awarded for Medicare contact centers

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded a contract worth as much as $9 billion to six vendors for contact-center operations for general Medicare and claims inquiries among all CMS communications channels.
CMS, an agency of the Health and Human Services Department, posted
the award on FedBizOpps.
CMS plans to consolidate beneficiary inquiry contact centers and create a virtual contact-center environment to handle customer service functions and answer general Medicare questions and those related to claims.
CMS in late September awarded a similar indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract valued at up to $1 billion for contact-center systems and support to several companies for development, integration, operations, and maintenance support required for CMS' contact-center technologies.
